Hola Amigos..
al tratar de eliminar el phpmyadmin me sale esto
si alguien me puediera ayudar...

Inicia mySql y vuelve a desinstalar.
/etc/init.d/mysql start

Hola...
intente iniciar mysql y me dio fail

En la desistalación debe querer conectar con MySQL, ¿Que ocurre si le das a ignorar? Puedes probar a instalarlo de nuevo y si todo va correctamente, desinstalarlo.
